How pensioners can get Digital Life Certificate sitting at home in India
A Digital Life Certificate is proof of
a person's survival by fingerprint according to Aadhaar records through a
biometric device.
Everyone knows that in order to get a
pension, the pensioners have to submit a life certificate to the pension
providing organization/Govt/department in November every year. That is why
every year in November, millions of pensioners would line up to submit their
life certificates. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, it has been decided that the life
certificate can be submitted at any time of the year and the validity of the
life certificate will be valid for the next one year from the date of
submission.
Now the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) have launched the Department of Pension & Pensioners ’Welfare (DoPPW) to initiate doorstep service facility for submitting digital life certificate.
The Department of Pension & Pensioners ’Welfare (DoPPW) is therefore roped with the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) to provide this doorstep facility with the help of post offices in 136000 places through biometric device. You can take advantage of this facility at home. Initially the fee for this work is seventy rupees.
To avail this facility you must first have
go to the following website: -

There you have to register your name
through OTP verification with name, address, email (optional) and mobile number.

After registration when the person
comes from the post office, you have to provide the information given below. Your
Digital Life Certificate will come out when your fingerprints match according
to the records of Aadhaar. This life certificate will go to your pension
provider. You need not to do anything else.
You need to provide the following
information to the personnel from Postal Department: -
1) Name of the pensioner.
2) Pension payment order number.
3) Name of the pension provider.
4) Details of the bank account through
which the pension is paid.
5) Mobile number.
6) Email (optional)
7) Aadhaar number.
